What we measured, and what we know is imperfect.

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Contrast is checked against the pixels a browser actually paints rather than the colours in the stylesheet, because text over a photograph is the case an automated audit cannot see — and this site puts text over photographs.

What is actually checked

  • Contrast, against rendered pixels. Every page is screenshotted at phone, tablet and desktop widths, and the text is measured against what is behind it — including where that is a photograph under a gradient.
  • Keyboard. Every control is reachable and operable without a mouse, focus is visible, and a skip link is the first thing in the tab order. The picture viewer is a native dialog, so focus is trapped inside it and Escape closes it.
  • Motion. Nothing moves on its own. The few transitions that exist are switched off entirely when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Zoom and reflow. Pages are checked for horizontal overflow at eight widths down to 320 pixels, so text reflows instead of forcing sideways scrolling.
  • Tap targets. Interactive elements are sized so a thumb can hit them, which is why several links have more padding than their text needs.

Where it is not perfect

Two things we know about rather than two things we are hiding.

  • The reviews are laid out as a fanned deck on wide screens. The fan is decorative — the same cards stack plainly below 1280 pixels and the reading order is identical either way — but if rotated text is hard for you, the narrow layout is the better one and simply making the window smaller gives it to you.
  • Photographs of blinds are described in words rather than shown to a screen reader, and a description is never the same as seeing a fabric. If you want a product described properly, ring us and ask — that is a better answer than a longer alt attribute.

If something does not work for you

Tell us and we will fix it, and in the meantime we will do the thing you were trying to do, with you, on the phone. Booking a measure never requires the form: (647) 955-4401, open 8am–9pm, 7 days, or care@blinds-company.ca.

Say which page and what happened. "The date field would not take my keyboard on the roller blinds page" is enough to act on.

The standard

WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the target, and it is also the level Ontario's accessibility legislation points at for public-facing web content. Where this site exceeds it, it is because the stricter number was the one that made the page readable — not for a badge.
